End Of an Era: Dodge Hellcat Muscle Cars - The Last Challenger & Charger - Test Drive and Review
In the past years, #Dodge has gone further and further into the extreme with their V8-powered cars. And it seems that with new EPA and CAFÉ regulations, we have reached the definitive peak of American #V8 #muscle cars. That’s why we want to dedicate this episode to Dodge muscle cars. So, if you’re a fan of raw American V8 muscle, this video is for you!
The 6.4L #Hemi is Dodge’s most powerful engine that can be had with a manual transmission. There simply is no more thrilling driving experience than driving a 6.4L V8 with a true six-speed stick shift. 485 horsepower and 475 lb. ft. torque on the rear wheels is insane. And all of that for a sticker price of under 54 grand. Models that go beyond that go all the way up to the 1,025 hp Hellcat Demon, with 945 lb. ft. torque being the only production car able of doing a wheelie from the factory with its 6.2L supercharged V8 engine. And Dodge bragging about the car’s ability to consume an entire tank of gas in only 15 minutes was the best part of this.
Dodge has been the OG of American muscle in recent years. Their Challenger is not only bigger, heavier and more American looking than its competitors, but it’s also faster than all of them, with the peak being the Hellcat Demon 170 setting an insane 0 to 60 time of only 1.66 seconds.
We’ll zoom in on some of the details of the last muscle cars from Dodge, but first we need to talk about the driving experience. It’s hard to match the fun and insanity of driving one of these. It’s more than just the speed, and this is why an electric Challenger can never replace it. Fake gearbox and fake engine noise sounds are like going from a enjoying a juicy ribeye steak at a true steakhouse to eating a beyond burger at Burger King.
The real sound of a large displacement V8 engine that can actually be heard...
…a gear shifter where you can feel the mechanical gears. Where it actually matters when and how you shift.
And so much raw power to the rear wheels! We got to drive this Challenger Shaker which is powered by a 5.7L V8 engine paired to a 6-speed manual, producing 375 hp and 410 lb. ft. of torque. ‘Shaker’ refers to the air inlet that sticks through the hood, where you can see the engine shake. Are they going to fake that too in the electric Challenger?
Speaking of sound, the exhaust pipes automatically open when you rev the car over 3000 RPM to release that brutal V8 growl.
These Challengers are the true modern incarnation of the 60s muscle cars. Muscular looks, crazy performance, with modern technology, and with a big-ass engine. There simply is no replacement for displacement!
One such modern thing is for example the keyless entry system, that allows you to lock the car with a press of a button. But it holds another trick. Not sure if you’ve ever tried locking your keyfob in the trunk, but we tried and it turns out you can’t. The trunk releases automatically. Smart thinking, Dodge! Smart thinking.
Speaking of openings, all hood scoops on the Dodges are real. We’ve shown you the shaker hood, which is the most extreme one of them all. This Jailbreak has a set of more traditional looking scoops in its hood. And if you thought those air inlets looked cool, look at this one in the Challenger: there’s an air inlet in a hole in the inner headlamp. Well, it’s not really a headlamp but it does light up.
The Dodge Charger Redeye Jailbreak that you’re looking at, is the last edition of the Charger. What does that mean? To start, 807 horsepower under the hood, which sounds like this:
You can recognize the Redeye Jailbreak first of all by a literal red eye in the Hellcat badge. Other than that, they’re almost as customizable as a Rolls Royce. Brake calipers are available in no less than six colors, inside a choice of seven wheel types. It’s got thick, supportive seats with Laguna leather finish-play Corinthian leather clip. They come in a variety of available colors, and even the seatbelts can be ordered in your custom color of choice. These ones are a fitting ‘Demonic Red’.
The red theme continues in the analog gauges and the engine start button. Just like the hood scoops, the carbon finish on the dashboard and center console is genuine, and gives the Jailbreak a sporty look. Inside all that carbon is a 8.4 inch touchscreen, featuring Dodge’s performance pages, so you can record and beat your own records.
The steering wheel can be customized with your choice of leather or Alcantara, the latter of which I don’t understand for a steering wheel. It’s a terrible material for a high-touch surface. What’s really cool is the SRT-badge on the steering wheel that lights up, available in either red or white.
The Dodge cars offer the most power for the money available in any sports or muscle car, and combined with the aggressive American design and nice creature comforts, they’re currently some of the most exciting and best deals available on the market. All I can say is: buy one while you still can.

2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series III vs. Wagoneer - Detailed Tour, Review, Test Drive and Walkaround

#Jeep #Wagoneer #grandwagoneer Full-size SUVs are America’s full-size luxury sedans of the modern age. Large, heavy, luxurious barges with big engines are still the finest mode of transportation in my book. Some people call them wasteful; I think it’s wasteful to drive a Prius and cry yourself to sleep at night. However, I was utterly undecided which one was the best. The Lincoln Navigator has ...

The first thing about the #Chrysler #LeBaron #convertible that catches the attention is the beautiful styling of the car. WOW!!! I have watched a lot of videos of the Grand Wagoneer and this one had more detailed useful information. I’m waiting on the 2025s to come out and I’m getting one. I’m coming from a Mercedes GLS 580, I do love how the backseat window shades on the Mercedes are automatic and I do wish the Grand Wagoneer’s were also. Since I have been looking at a lot of different models, I do think most them have missed the mark on the air condition vents not being on the roof. Maybe they look better or more convenient for most people being on the side, but there needs to be a woman involved (😂) in designing these vehicles that thinks about infants/babies in rear facing car seats. They can’t feel the air conditioning, in the South, that’s a big deal. Angie, thanks for this video! I’m looking forward to getting mine.

    Old footage. 2024 is the Hurricane 6 Twin turbo standard (SO) 420HP Wagoneer and (HO) 510 HP (Grand) 6.4 was for 2022 and 23 MY. Both Hurricane engines (SO/HO) cover the regular and L models. o find the Hurricane has much better power and performance than either of the HEMI

    • @LCR
      @LCR 22 дні тому

      The issue is that those are peak numbers. Overall performance isn't as good or as smooth. A V8 delivers constant power which turbo engines don't. On top of that, there's the durability issue, with turbo engines simply not lasting the hundreds of thousands of miles that American V8s do. If it was for the extra power, Jeep could've used the supercharged Hemi which they've done before. The only reason for the Hurricane to exist is CAFE regulations.

Adaptive cruise and a HUD, plus special tuscany leather seats came with the Premium Luxury Performance Package. The STS in the video is not mine, we borrowed it to create that review. Unfortunately I can't tell you for sure if the advanced display can be built in afterwards. I do know the SRX can be converted from the Bose radio to the DVD nav, but it requires creating a custom adapter cable. It's not plug-and-play but it will work when properly connected.

    I had to Rebuild the AWD Transfer Case, I discovered it can be switched over to 60/40. (the front wheels spin more than rear wheels) not good for road use, because it would damage Tires also make the care prone to lose control. i think it is only good for driving off road, especially sand (I don't really know tho)

    • @LCR
      @LCR 3 місяці тому

      That's surprising, since the 2WD variant was rear-wheel drive. I'd expect more power would be going to the rear wheels in a 60/40 config.
